5-Minute Gingerbread Latte — No Coffee Needed

There’s something really special about the holiday season. Where I live, the landscape is typically draped in white snow this time of year. We live near a river, so the moisture in the air often means we wake up to glistening hoar frost on the trees. It’s stunning and magical and really puts me in the holiday spirit. It also makes me want to reach for something warm and comforting in the morning— like a gingerbread latte! Nothing says Christmas like gingerbread, and this 5-minute gingerbread latte is a quick and easy treat you and your whole family can enjoy because there’s no coffee needed. Best of all, it comes together in minutes, making it the perfect companion for slow mornings and snowy days.

Warm up with a caffeine-free gingerbread latte on cold, frosty days.

Why You’ll Love This Gingerbread Oat Latte

Creamy & Warming

I love how indulgent this latte tastes— it’s creamy and rich-tasting without the dairy, and the cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg create a warm, cozy feeling that offsets the frigid landscape outside. Use a frother to create a silky foam for the ultimate barista experience!

Dairy-Free

If you follow a dairy-free or vegan lifestyle, this gingerbread oat latte is the perfect way to start or end your day. The oat milk creates a naturally creamy, comforting base without the dairy, making it a delicious option for those with sensitivities.

5-Minute Gingerbread Latte

Refined Sugar-Free

As good as they look, I rarely get one of the tempting holiday drinks from cafés simply because they’re usually loaded with refined sugar, which causes gut flora imbalances, leading to inflammation and a weakened immune system, among other issues.

However, this latte is sweetened with molasses and maple syrup, two minimally refined foods that contain vital nutrients such as calcium, iron, zinc, magnesium, manganese, and potassium. These sweeteners also lend the latte its characteristic gingerbread flavour — yum! Compared to refined white sugar or corn syrup, which provide little more than calories, this latte is a more nourishing way to indulge.

Cozy Holiday Flavours

Who doesn’t love the smell of warm Christmas spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger? These flavours instantly transport us back to happy childhood memories of holiday gatherings with family and friends, or maybe cold December days huddled under a blanket by the fire. This latte tastes just like biting into a warm gingerbread cookie—it’s truly Christmas in a mug!

5-Minute Gingerbread Latte

Budget-Friendly & Easy to Make

Perhaps the best part of this holiday latte is that it costs far less to make than what a barista would make for you—and you probably already have the ingredients stocked in your pantry. Made with creamy oat milk, molasses, maple syrup, and a few spices, this vegan latte is a breeze to make and comes together in just 5 minutes! Who doesn’t have time for that?

Notes

  • Flavour boost: Add a pinch of extra cinnamon, ground clove, or nutmeg for a more intense gingerbread profile.
  • Blended version: For a frothy café-style latte, blend all ingredients for 20–30 seconds before warming, or use a frother.
  • Sweeteners: Molasses gives the classic gingerbread depth while maple syrup adds smooth sweetness. Adjust both to taste.
  • Lighter version: Reduce maple syrup to ½ tbsp and molasses to ½–1 tsp to bring the latte under 200 calories without losing flavour.
  • Milk choice: Oat milk creates the creamiest texture, but almond, cashew, or soy milk can be used as substitutes.
